Crystal blue bays and soft sandy beaches. Breathtaking views with a carefree “beat.” Island volunteer vacations provide an opportunity to escape the cold weather while helping to change the arc of a child’s life. Global Volunteers’ service programs offer couples, families, groups, and individuals the opportunity to combine altruism with exotic adventure. Choose a program that meets your requirement for service, learning, warmth, and fun!

Cook Islands Volunteer Vacation

Enjoy a volunteer vacation in the Cook Islands. Unfortunately, the islands’ culture and vitality are seriously challenged by negative economic pressures which drive the country’s youth abroad – away from family and their home. You can help remedy this by offering your skills, expertise, and support to schools and island social service agencies by serving under the direction of Global Volunteers’ community partners. Teach, tutor, mentor, paint, plant, nurture and inspire change.

Rarotonga is a small island (the drive around the island takes about 45 minutes). We have worked there for 24 years, so you’ll be immediately and warmly welcomed by the local people and quickly become part of the community. Volunteering couples, families, groups, and individuals of all ages are greatly appreciated.

Cuba Volunteer Vacation

Volunteer in Cuba in support of the Cuban people. Our community partners in Havana and Ciego de Ávila need you to practice conversational English with young adults; paint, repair, and improve community buildings; work in community gardens, collaborate with women’s craft cooperatives, befriend seniors, and so much more. If you want to genuinely experience this charming and exotic island, embrace the culture, and know its warm and inviting people, we encourage you to support the Cuban people as a volunteer.  It is one of the few legal ways for Americans to travel to Cuba.

Crete, Greece Volunteer Vacation

Teach conversational English as a volunteer on the island of Crete. No previous teaching experience is needed! Our community partners direct the volunteer assignments – and you become an invaluable resource. Care for children in Crete and appreciate the pride of the people behind the rich, ancient Greek culture.

Puerto Rico Volunteer Vacation

Volunteer in Puerto Rico to help local people improve their English skills. Puerto Ricans benefit greatly from visiting with volunteers and enhance their English capabilities, the language of commerce, tourism, and opportunity. You can also provide psycho-social support to infants and toddlers at a local children’s center, help maintain community buildings, or utilize your research and writing skills to draft grant proposals to fund transformative community-based projects.

Sicily,Italy Volunteer Vacation

Teach conversational English skills to students in high school classrooms and small groups as a volunteer in Sicily, Italy. Situated near the southwestern Mediterranean coast of the island, in the province of Trapani, you can team teach, work one-on-one, or conduct classes on your own – depending on your experience, style, and comfort level.

Sicilian students crave the opportunity to learn American English (the language of opportunity and the internet) from native speakers to enhance their educational and employment prospects

St. Lucia Volunteer Vacation

Volunteer in Anse la Raye, St. Lucia with children, parents, and teachers. Many local children in Anse la Raye face life-limiting health and educational challenges. Provide care and support to these children and help them have a healthy start in life. In addition, ample free time is available in the evenings and on the weekends to enjoy the numerous local island activities and attractions – including swimming, snorkeling, sunbathing, boating, hiking, and more!
